You may want to print this checklist and keep it handy to keep track of the items that need to be completed.

  1. Direct Deposit
    Send written or faxed notice to your direct deposit vendors (payroll, social security, CD interest payments, etc.)
    Complete and print the Change Direct Deposit Form
    Complete and print either the Direct Deposit Cover Letter or the Direct Deposit Fax Coversheet
    Fax or mail both items to the appropriate vendors. Make a list of the direct deposit vendors you need to contact:

  1. AutoPay
    Send written or faxed notice to vendors who automatically take payments from your account to change or cancel automatic payment (utilities, insurance, student loans, subscriptions etc.)
    Complete and print the Change Automatic Payment Form
    If you are changing your auto pay information, complete and print either the Change Auto Pay Cover Letter or the Change Auto Pay Fax Coversheet
    If you are cancelling your auto pay information, complete and print either the Cancel Auto Pay Cover Letter or the Cancel Auto Pay Fax Coversheet
    Fax or mail the form and letter to the appropriate vendorsMake a list of the direct deposit vendors you need to contact:

  1. What To Do With Your Old Account
    Make certain your old account has enough money to cover outstanding checks and automatic payments that may still come through that account
    Wait to close your old account until all checks have cleared and automatic transactions have converted over to your new account
