Ron Grothe has been a member of the CornerStone State Bank Board of Directors since 1997. Ron and his wife Robin own Corner Drug Health Mart in Le Sueur, MN, and have both been active leaders in the Le Sueur business community.
Ron’s personal Pharmacy career started when his chemistry professor/advisor noted an aptitude for organic chemistry at Willmar Community College, Willmar, MN and encouraged him to apply to the University of Minnesota, Pharmacy School. He applied with a 2 year Associate of Sciences degree in 1975 and was admitted Fall Semester 1975 and graduated Spring 1978 with his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Pharmacy. He immediately was hired as a staff pharmacist by Sward Kemp Snyder Drug in Redwood Falls, MN.
Upon completing his 7th year at Sward Kemp Snyder Drug and holding various staff positions including management he sought to buy Corner Drug from Dick and Bunny Lantz in October 1985. While many changes including franchise names, which currently is Corner Drug Health Mart, the stability and recognition of our business has come from our long term loyal employees; some of which have been with the store since previous ownership. Corner Drug has been peer nominated for Pharmacy of the Year 3 times and won the National Award in 2004.
Ron has been involved in the Le Sueur community as an active Rotary member and currently serves on the board as International Services Director. He has held all positions within the Le Sueur area Chamber of Commerce and has held multiple positions of service at First Lutheran Church. He also served on the Le Sueur Industry Development Board.
Ron, along with his business partner and wife of 22 years Robin currently resides on some acreage in Le Sueur where they tend to all family, business, gardening, pets, and recreational interests together. They have four children and five grandchildren.
